Intelligent parking guidance system - 10 min free parking for pick up and drop off actions.
A lot has happened at the traffic junction Döppersberg in Wuppertal, directly at the main train station.
- The new bus station
- a cycle house for environmentally conscious cyclists
- the new multi-storey car park with up to 250 parking spaces, called "Bahnhofsmall" (station mall)
have contributed to upgrade the entire area and made it more accessible.
From the new multi-storey car park you can now get directly through the station hall and mall to the tracks.
Intelligent parking guidance system from MSR-Traffic
Thanks to installation of the intelligent parking guidance system from MSR-Traffic, the drivers looking for a parking space can see on the entrance sign which capacities are available on the respective level.
In addition to
- normal parking spaces
- women's parking spaces
- handicap parking spaces
it is now possible to choose “Kiss & Ride" parking spaces. They can be used free of charge for up to 10 minutes to take people to or to pick them up from the station.
ParkGard® Main Display
For a multilevel car park, the entrance sign with integrated LED displays for outdoor use is the ideal display of remaining parking spaces.
The number of levels is individual. The integrated LED displays, consisting of a level indication and the remaining space indication, enable real-time display of available parking spaces.
Via a serial interface or optionally via GPRS the information is transmitted wirelessly. Other ParkGard® LED indoor displays (type Pico) are used to display symbols or numbers to enable rapid traffic guidance.
Ultrasonic sensors type design
ParkGard® ultrasonic sensors (type Design) take over the single space detection to sense the occupancy status of parking spaces.
Five ultra-bright LEDs per colour indicate the status (free/occupied) of the parking space.
Sensor and LED indication are integrated in one housing. The information is transmitted via the serial interface to the higher-level controller.
ParkGard® Control Box
The compact master computer with integrated touch display for direct visualisation and control of the car park is used for continuous monitoring of the occupancy status of the parking spaces in a multi-storey car park.
Using additional controllers, the Control Box PGCB can monitor up to approx. 500 ultrasonic sensors and can visualize them on the built-in display. In addition, it controls local bus participants such as dynamic arrow displays / remaining spaces displays and more.
Due to the integrated network connection, the Control Box can be embedded into an existing network. Thus, all measured values as well as the visualization can be called up remotely.
The ParkGard® Control Box from MSR-Traffic is used in combination with ultrasonic sensors and optional displays for occupancy detection and parking guidance of vehicles in car parks.
Via the integrated display, the car park can be visualised in real time using the ParkGard® Control Center software. Authorised users can also perform control tasks such as locking parking spaces and levels.
It is also possible to call up statistics and thus obtain information on the occupancy rate for the current day or a set period. The Control Box offers an all-in-one solution for small to medium-sized parking garages that want to do without complex server or computer systems.
Surveillance of “Kiss & Ride” parking spaces
After the 10-minute period for “Kiss & Ride” parking spaces in the Wuppertal car park has expired, a visualisation is made in the ParkGard® Control Box in the gatehouse to show that the parking space is being used illegally.
With the dynamic traffic management and parking guidance system from MSR-Traffic, the driver looking for a parking space is not only saved time and the quality of life is increased.
The operator can also reduce ventilation and environmental costs by making optimum use of parking space.
