In the digital age of Smart City and Smart Parking, design, sustainable mobility and ecnomical parking management are of central importance. In this context, the new LED matrix columns PILLAR are perfect for outdoor parking areas in combination with single space detection systems. The vehicle detection system reacts immediately and reliably to any change in parking usage. So utilisation and parking management can be optimised.
Smart parking management: LED matrix PILLAR
The LED standing pillar (IP54) is available including power supply unit for outdoor parking spaces. These 4-sided variable LED matrix displays are used to show various texts, numbers, arrows or as information boards in parking management, e.g. to enable fast traffic guidance. Thereby, the current parking information is transmitted to the column via a serial/Ethernet interface.
By the way, the colour of the RGBW LED backlit corpus can be easily set or changed in the operating software of the parking guidance system (PGCC). This means that each parking area can be individually assigned its own colour. This also helps visitors with orientation.
The body consists of 4 aluminium profiles that hold the Plexiglas, thus completing the elegant look. The base and cover plates of the PILLAR LED matrix column are made of aluminium and are powder-coated in RAL 9005 black (or according to customer requirements).
Application fields in parking management
The matrix columns are used in various areas, e.g. on car parks in front of shopping centres, furniture stores, in stadiums, restaurants as well as bus and train stations, etc. Due to the amazing visual performance and modular design, the pillars are used in a variety of ways as traffic signs. For example, the pillars are used as directional signs, remaining space displays, handicapped displays or above charging stations (animated display).
