Ecological living and intelligent parking with sensor technology from MSR-Traffic in "Quartier 7".
In just a few years, the new district of Graz-Reininghaus will be the centre of life for around 15,000 people who will live and work there.
In “Quartier 7”, modern and ecological living spaces are being created in the southern part of the Reininghaus site.
The architectural firm “balloon”, which emerged successfully from a competition, has planned a courtyard-like wooden building architecture with a generous green space concept.
The site will be divided into 4 sub-quarters. 4 residential courtyards will be created in total, which are connected by the park.
Completion is scheduled for summer 2020.
Reduction of the search for parking spaces thanks to the parking guidance system from MSR-Traffic
The MSR-Austria branch of MSR-Traffic in Germany was commissioned to install an intelligent parking guidance system for the underground car park and thus makes an important contribution to environmental protection.
In this project, dynamic LED matrix displays are used at cross points to guide vehicles to the appropriate lanes with free parking space capacities.
The ultrasonic sensors (type "Cross") including integrated status LEDs show the driver where free parking spaces are available within the lane.
The ultrasonic sensors, which are responsible for the single space detection as well as the counting detection, are mounted under the ceiling.
Compared to conventional measuring techniques, MSR-Traffic sensors are robust, very durable and provide precise measuring results at all times. The turnkey system is individually configured and installed very quickly on site.
The aim is to reduce the search time for parking space for residents. Apart from the time saved and the good feeling of knowing where the next free parking space is, the environment is protected. In addition, the profitability of paid parking areas is increased.
In times of Smart Cities and Big Data, MSR-Traffic is one of the leading providers of dynamic parking guidance systems.
The heart for the control, visualisation and administration: the ParkGard® Control Center (PGCC) from MSR-Traffic
Communication between hardware and software is via Modbus-RS-485/TCP-IP.
The PGCC is responsible for the:
- control of the parking guidance system
- storage of historical data
- compilation of statistics
- visualisation of ongoing operations
- communication with other systems.
All configuration data, parking data and statistics are stored in a SQL database. The PGCC works as a web server and can be operated worldwide on any PC via web browser.
Another important information is the possible integration of a compatible gas warning system for parking garages to protect people and facilities.
